Driver Logs
Drivers as you well know can make or break your business. Regulations pertaining to hours of service, logs, drug testing, licensing, and other areas get tougher every year. Managing your driver compliance information is key. As is auditing their logs, flagging violations, and documenting disciplinary actions taken.
With the Profit Tools Log Auditor module, you will be able to manage these tasks with ease. Functions include driver management, log auditing, compliance reports, generation of random testing lists, multiple log entry modes, etc. The Log Auditor complies with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49 CFR, Part 395) and includes the Hours-of-Service rules
HOS Regulations
Support for the new HOS regulations is provided in Profit Tools, two aspects of the new rules require a special explanation as to how these are handled in the Log Auditor:
34 Hour Restart
Sleeper Berth Provision
Short Haul Exception
Additional Regulation Information
Profit Tools audits logs solely according to the federal regulations. Any variations in rules or enforcement at the state level are not processed automatically by the program. However, violations can be manually added or excused by the user if intrastate rules were in effect for a duty period and deviation from the federal rules is applicable.
Note: For more information regarding the rule changes, we recommend you visit:
The FMCSA web site at: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/topics/hos/ index.htm
The J.J. Keller HOS Info Center at: http://www.jjkeller.com/
Although Keller has various useful information on their website, this time around, some of their publications will not be ready with the new revisions until the end of October, including revisions to the "Hours of Service and Driver Logs Workbook". However, between the FMCSA site and the Keller site, there is enough information available to get a good understanding of the rules and their impact in various situations.
